Here at The Patch Day Nursery, our Little Acorns baby room offers places for children aged between 6 months to 2 years old and caters for up to 9 babies. We have an array of different activities to stimulate your child’s development.
The children love going for a ride in our 6 seater bus to our forest school and we often take our snack outside, weather permitting. The children enjoy exploring the sights, smells and textures of the outside environment.
Once a week we visit the sensory room in school to give children free exploration of their senses, with ambient lighting, a ball pit and different textures for them to explore.
We love to get messy in the baby room and often use paint, food play, water play and sand play, so make sure you’ve packed spare clothes!
We encourage all of our babies to join in with singing their favourite songs and rhymes with our song box.
We have 4 staff members in the baby room:
Natalie Smith: Nursery Practitioner, Level 3 qualified.
Joanne Marshall: Senior Practitioner, Level 3 qualified.
Nicole Mills: Nursery Practioner, Foundation Degree.
Deannie Henshall: Nursery Practitioner, Level 3 qualified.
We strongly encourage free flow play in the baby room as this enables the children to choose activities of their interests. We have an array of resources from mirrors, pebbles, building blocks, interactive toys, creative materials, books and much more. We also have a sensory area within the room, a cosy area for quiet time and a home corner for the children to begin to roleplay.
